This is a big season for the PGA Tour players… THE FEDEX CUP PLAYOFFS!!! A lot of money is at stake during this time of the year. Players that are in contention for the FEDEX CUP PLAYOFFS can brag about their consistency of play over the season.
Yesterday, the winner of the 2017 BMW Championship, Marc Leishman beat the field by 5 strokes!
Here is how he did it…
Using the Callaway GBB Epic (9 degrees) with the Fujikura Speeder 757 Evolution II (X-Flex), Leishman was able to hit 67.9% of the fairways. The average PGA Tour players hits about 60% of his fairways. With the standard GBB Epic, he was averaging 311 yards with 348 was his longest drive of the tournament. The Jailbreak Technology in these drivers really increase ball speed. In my opinion, the GBB Epic sounds “sweeter and softer” than the TaylorMade M drivers.
With hitting accurate drives, shots into the greens become a lot easier. Leishman was able to hit 72.2% Greens In Regulation. Marc did this with Callaway’s Apex Pro ’16 irons with Nippon Modus3 Tour 130X shafts. I really like these irons because the tungsten provides a soft dampened feel and sound. Also, the irons are not too big but they offer a lot of distance forgiveness on those off centered hits.
CONGRATS MARC LEISHMAN!!! Can’t wait to see the rest of the FEDEX CUP PLAY OFFS.
