TaylorMade’s Hi-Toe Lob Wedge

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! New Year… new clubs for you to try out, right?

We were lucky enough to see some of the new equipment TaylorMade will be putting out in 2018. We recently posted a video about the new M3 and M4 drivers. (click here!)

A wedge has been causing some positive chaos on tour. With names like Justin Rose and Dustin Johnson, many of TaylorMade‘s staff really love this wedge. This new wedge is the TaylorMade Milled Grind Hi-Toe Wedge. The wedge will only be available in a 58 degree, all the way up to a 64 degree. The Hit-Toe wedge we saw has this nice brush oil/copper finish which is designed to rust over time (this supposedly increases spin).

What makes this wedge different is, well… the toe is higher. TaylorMade increased the surface area of the wedge and added more groves. Doing this puts the center of gravity higher up on the face, which allows players to hit those low launch, high spin shot. Not to mention, the added grooves add spin to the shot already.

What makes this wedge so great too, is the grind. Our rep told us that this is the most versatile grind TaylorMade has come up with. Whether you want to throw the ball in low or launch it high, the turf interaction is phenomenal.

Callaway’s Mack Daddy Phil Mickelson model

Many people are saying that this wedge looks exactly like Callaway’s Mack Daddy Wedge Phil Mickelson edition, and they are exactly right. Whether you want to admit it or not, Phil is a short game guru and he knows what works and what doesn’t.
