In the words of there website - 1981
Ralph Vold bought back some old grazing land from his brother Harry with a
combination of cattle and cash. The land was in a sand belt and would be perfect for the type of golf course they wanted to build. Late that fall, Ryan Vold and Rod Whitman, the designer, walk the land and begin routing the design in their mind.
1982
Work begins on a new 18 hole course in the san dunes of Central Alberta.
1983
Clubhouse construction begins. The Vold family decide on an old style log building. A log company out of B.C. was hired to build the clubhouse. At over
20,000 square feet it was one of he largest hand carved log buildings in the country. Ralph Vold trades 200 cows for the purchase of the building.
1984
West nine complete and opens for play in August.
1985
East nine opens in the spring.
1987/1999
The Vold family brings in the Alberta Open and Canadian Tour for 13 years in Alberta. It is from this event most of the exposure for the course comes out, including many rave comments from the tour players.
2006
Ground was broken on a new nine holes, short course and subdivision; to be called The Village at Wolf Creek. Anticipated seeding date summer of 2007.
