  • The NEW 718 Titleist AP2 are something different. In past models, there was not a significance difference in the AP2s. Jordan Spieth was one of the youngsters to put the AP2s on the map. Before that, many people were skeptic about tour players using cavity backs. Spieth has been honest with himself, and admits to not being able to hit blades or muscle backs. The AP2s are for players looking to shape the ball, but still have the forgiveness they need. Here’s how the 718 AP2s are different: LOOKS BETTER: -The 718 AP2s have a lot smaller head than the […]

  • Recently, we had the opportunity to hit the NEW TaylorMade P-790 at the shop. Let me tell you… no other manufacturer is making irons like these ones. It seems that TaylorMade is continually pushing the envelope with different materials. The TaylorMade M woods were one of the first drivers to feature carbon fiber crown. The TaylorMade (TM) P-790s will be replacing the TM UDI series. However, unlike the UDI series the P-790s will be available from 2 iron to pitching wedge; the UDI was only available in the longer irons. Players looking for distance and higher ball flight will absolutely […]

  • It’s here! It’s here! After a lot of waiting, Scotty Cameron fanatics are going crazy over this Futura 5.5M model. Two reasons why this putter is great: Same size as Justin Thomas’ putter head. Although Justin Thomas has a regular looking 5W it is smaller. It is easy to align. This is just like the 5W, but more weight in the back which means higher MOI. Have any questions? Email us at support@fairwaygolf.com .

  • Have you seen the Mizuno MP-18 Split Cavity? We have the demos at the shop, and this is my comparison between the MP-18 MB (muscle back) and SC. Most golfers that use blades are told to go to the slightly more forgiving model. According to our launch monitor, there was no performing variance between the two irons. FIND OUT WHY! THE TOP LINE  This is the only characteristic difference that stood out to me. The top line of the Mizuno MP-18 SC is significantly larger than the MP-18 MB; it was bigger than I thought it would be. The top […]

  • Brooks Koepka won the 2017 U.S. Open at Erin Hills with the Mizuno JPX-900 Tour irons. These irons are made for better players that like a thinner top line. Koepka stated that his main reason to using Mizuno was the look and feel of the irons. This is what Mizuno is infamous for, LOOKS and FEEL. Their new line, MP-18, did not let us down. Not only did the irons look good, but they felt softer than the JPX-900 Tour irons. Although it states “1025E” on both clubs, the MP-18 felt softer. The MP-18 is forged with 1025E pure-select mild-carbon […]

Jason Day, Rory Mcilroy, and other TaylorMade tour staff players have been seen using the 2 iron version. For more details, email support@fairwaygolf.com !

  • PING has always been a company about customizing clubs to the player. They understand that different golfers need different specs, especially for the fairway wood. Why the fairway wood you might ask? There’s many reasons why having trusted fairway woods are important: when the driver is misbehaving the woods are next in line, or if you need to reach the green in two in order to beat your playing partners. Sometimes you hit a poor shot off the tee, so you have to make up the distance and get your ball back into play. I really like fitting customers, especially […]

  • This is the most anticipated iron coming out, THE MIZUNO MP-18. The MP-118 is already available in Japan, and the MP-18 is set to be released in early September. I had the opportunity to hit a demo of the MP-18 and it did not disappoint. It is a more compact blade than other blades out there. The MP-18 was designed to be a more traditional shaped head, rather than what other manufacturers making now. Other manufacturers are producing these large blades, so Mizuno wanted to go back to a true blade size.   This means that the MP-18 will not […]

  • Many of our customers are asking if our website has a typo on the Mizuno page… what you’re seeing is correct. The Mizuno MP-118 and the Mizuno MP-18 are two different models. The MP-118 are the Japanese version of the MP-18. They look very similar from first glance, but the difference is a layer below the surface. The Mizuno MP-118 features a copper layer below the face. This allows for a softer feel than a regular one-material blade. The MP-118 are a Japan-only release, and are available now here! The MP-18 will be available in the beginning of September. Have […]

  • Mizuno Golf has decided to further separate their JPX line and MP line from each other by size, shape and material. The new MP-18 (MB), MP-18 SC, MP-18 MMC and MP-18 MMC Fli Hi are all identical in technical specs such as loft, lie and length in order to make the transition from model to model smoother. This makes sense because most players on the PGA Tour now are using combo sets with musclebacks in the short irons for control and cavity backs in the longer irons for more forgiveness. The sole widths, blade lengths and toplines increase with each […]

  • This has to be one of the most frequently asked questions I get from very good players, and it’s a question that I had asked myself until I did some testing. If you knew a way to save a couple dollars for a dozen of Titleist ProV1 or ProV1x‘s, you almost know the meaning of life. (If you do, comment down below!!!) There is about an $8 difference for a dozen of 2017 ProV1(x)‘s and the previous generation ProV1(x)‘s. “If the difference isn’t so drastic, I’ll just buy the older model.” Titleist has claimed that the newer generation has a […]

He’s not playing too well right now, so that’s probably the only aspect of his game that you want to acquire. Bubba has claimed to gain an average of 6 yards to his drive, just by switching to the PING G400 driver; that means the average Joe can probable gain at least 10 more yards!  Bubba has also been hitting 60% of his fairways this year, which means the G400 offers control.
