  • Bridgestone Golf announced today that Tiger Woods has signed a multi-year deal with them to play their golf balls. Tiger was seen recently at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas gaming the Bridgestone B330S golf ball. We saw some very good things out of Tiger that week with the B330S. Distance control, long drives and greenside spin were all highlights of the B330S‘s attributes in the most capable hands. The B330S is a departure from the normal 4-piece premium balls on tour. The ‘S  is a 3-piece ball with a urethane cover and a large, fast rubber core that is […]

  • Japan’s news outlets recently reported that the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe met with President-elect Donald Trump on an “unofficial” visit. As a show of good faith, the Prime Minister brought Mr. Trump a Honma Beres 5-star driver and in return Trump gave Abe some nice golf shirts. A driver in the top-of-the-line Honma 5-star series goes for over $5,000! These clubs are very well made but the 5-star series (special order only) is mostly about status and is the ultimate symbol of luxury in golf. It looks like that gold driver will be right at home in Trump’s New […]

  • As of today (07/15/2016) Callaway Golf has decided to drop their prices on the Great Big Bertha and Big Bertha Alpha DBD by $100 each. This makes these drivers $349 and $399 respectively. Let’s get real…we’re all looking for a great deal, something great for free at a wholesale price. Callaway has given that deal to the consumer as of today. Both of these drivers are on the 2016 Hot List from Golf Digest and from personal experience are very long but more accurate than some of the offerings from other well-known manufacturers. Demos are available for these drivers in […]

  • Tiger Woods attended a media day this morning, supporting the Tiger Woods Foundation, for the Quicken Loans National at Congressional Country Club. He was battered with questions about how his recovery and golf game are coming along (of course) to which he replied that he is healthy but still does not know when he will return to competitive golf. He says that he needs to work on his consistency under pressure in order to make move back to the PGA Tour. He then hit some ceremonial tee shots at a 105-yard par 3 and by my eye he hit all […]

The man under the mullet still smokes, drinks and gambles (though not as excessively as he once did) and can really play the game of golf. He looks toward the PGA Tour Champions as his next foray into competitive golf and a new crop of competition. The fact is that Daly may have squandered his talent while becoming the original bad boy of golf and is now getting serious about competition when […]

This raises some speculation about when we will see Tiger Woods back on the PGA Tour to get ready for the competition he will face at the U.S. Open. His options include the Wells Fargo Championship, Player’s Championship, AT&T Byron Nelson, Dean & Deluca Invitational, Memorial Tournament and St. Jude Classic before the national Open. Based on his past schedules, I crossed out some tournaments he’s not likely to pick but he may surprise us this year. Tiger will be looking to knock off the […]

Many of you might have not heard of the Taylor Made Gloire line of products.  It is a Japanese model sold in the Japanese market.  I guess Japanese golfers prefer something different from the US products. It is a fact that many of the more popular Japan specific golf clubs are made lighter and softer targeting more towards the older generation of golfers.  What do you look for when you get older?  MORE DISTANCE!  Many Japanese drivers are designed to produce that extra ball speed.
