  • We finally got to see a set of the TaylorMade P-730s. We first saw these “prototype” irons when Rory Mcilroy joined the TaylorMade staff, and they were called the “RORS PROTOs“. Then we saw Dustin Johnson with his version, the “DJ PROTOs“. Most recently we have seen Justin Rose win the WGC-HSBC Chamionship with his “ROSE PROTOs“. Blade lovers everywhere are drooling over these irons. The P-730s feature a milled cross section to promote a higher ball flight. As far as looks go, the only concern I have is the 3-iron. The top line looks like a butter knife! It […]

  • I was always under the impression that players that are sponsored by club manufacturers such as Mizuno and PING use the Titleist ProV1 or ProV1X by default. One day at work, the Champions Tour was on and they were doing a close-up slo-mo to Miguel Angel Jimenez‘s impact. Anticipating the Titleist logo, I was shocked to see the SRIXON logo! Turns out Srixon has been gaining popularity in Europe. MAJ plays the NEW Srixon Z-Star. I highly recommend the Srixon Z-Star for players that love the performance of the ProV1, but want to here and feel a firmer ball. For […]

  • The University of California Riverside alumni defended his title this past weekend at the 2017 Safeway Open. Brendan Steele, a Wilson Golf staffer, used a variation of tools to help win the tournament back to back years. The interesting factor to his equipment are his wedges. It is a good rule of thumb that you have 4 degree gaps between your wedges. For example, if your pitching wedge is 48 degrees, your next club should be 52, then 56, and finally 60. However, if you take a look at Steele’s Titleist Vokey SM6 wedges he does 50, 58, then 60!?! […]

The International Team got off to a slow start. After the first day it was 8.5 to 2.5, with Team USA leading. Although Team USA was on a home course   It was Daniel Berger who was able to secure the cup for Team USA during his singles match play on Sunday. The Callaway Epic Pro irons is an absolute distance gain, so Phil does not need to use the 3-iron. Having the Epic Pro 4-iron gains Phil distance, as well as control since it is not as long.   For more information on the Callaway Epic Irons, click here! • For the longest time, Jason Day used the TaylorMade Spider Tour putter. In fact, when he earned World #1 ranking is when we noticed the trend of switching to mallets on the PGA Tour. The TM Spider Tour was special because of its high motion of inertia. The motion of inertia (MOI) meant that his putter head was difficult to pull [offline in the putting stroke]. On top of that, the TM Spider was one of the first mallets available to the public with the slant neck hosel. After noticing that even the non-TaylorMade tour players were switching to the […]
