Situated about 20 minutes north of Oslo, close to Gardermoen International Airport, the course was officially opened on 8 June 2002 with the intention of being among the worlds best courses according to quality, design and service. Many top European Tour golfers have played Miklagard, including Ian Wosnam, Tony Johnstone and Henrik Bjrnstad. The challenging nature of this championship course certainly impressed the likes of Trevor Immelmann and Robert Karlsson, who described the greens as the best they had ever played on.
