  • Lately, Sergio Garcia has been photographed using Callaway golf equipment. After winning his first major event with TaylorMade products, it makes many question this drastic equipment change. I personally think it has to do with his value going up since the Masters win, and TaylorMade not paying out. However, there are many tour pros that do not have equipment contracts (Brooks Koepka, Chris Kirk, etc.) and play what works best for them. If Sergio’s performance starts to decline, I would hate to have blamed it on an equipment change. Check out these pictures of Sergio playing Callaway… GBB Epic Driver […]

  • We finally got to see a set of the TaylorMade P-730s. We first saw these “prototype” irons when Rory Mcilroy joined the TaylorMade staff, and they were called the “RORS PROTOs“. Then we saw Dustin Johnson with his version, the “DJ PROTOs“. Most recently we have seen Justin Rose win the WGC-HSBC Chamionship with his “ROSE PROTOs“. Blade lovers everywhere are drooling over these irons. The P-730s feature a milled cross section to promote a higher ball flight. As far as looks go, the only concern I have is the 3-iron. The top line looks like a butter knife! It […]

  • Thinking about doing a combo set with TaylorMade’s P series irons? There’s nothing wrong with asking for more forgiveness in the longer irons. PGA Tour players like Rory Mcilroy have decided to to a split set. Most amateurs can benefit from doing this, especially if they struggle with consistency in the long irons. Maybe you were thinking of a split set between the P750s and the P770s in the longer irons. Or maybe even the P770s in the short clubs, with the P790s in the longer clubs. Some players just like the distance in the longer irons from the P790s. […]

  • For the longest time, Jason Day used the TaylorMade Spider Tour putter. In fact, when he earned World #1 ranking is when we noticed the trend of switching to mallets on the PGA Tour. The TM Spider Tour was special because of its high motion of inertia. The motion of inertia (MOI) meant that his putter head was difficult to pull [offline in the putting stroke]. On top of that, the TM Spider was one of the first mallets available to the public with the slant neck hosel. After noticing that even the non-TaylorMade tour players were switching to the […]

  • This iron takes forgiveness to the next level. The M-CGB iron has almost all of TaylorMade’s different technologies over the years. The iron features GEOCOUSTIC for the best sound during impact. Milled tungsten weights are placed towards the bottom of the face; more weight in the bottom promotes higher launch. This iron will help those that need to get the ball up in the air. Hitting the ball off-center would be another great reason to switch to the TaylorMade M-CGB. This is the largest iron I have seen this year. The Face Slots on the face really help maintain ball […]

  • Recently, we had the opportunity to hit the NEW TaylorMade P-790 at the shop. Let me tell you… no other manufacturer is making irons like these ones. It seems that TaylorMade is continually pushing the envelope with different materials. The TaylorMade M woods were one of the first drivers to feature carbon fiber crown. The TaylorMade (TM) P-790s will be replacing the TM UDI series. However, unlike the UDI series the P-790s will be available from 2 iron to pitching wedge; the UDI was only available in the longer irons. Players looking for distance and higher ball flight will absolutely […]
