  • I was surprised when I heard that Cleveland Golf was coming out their own irons. For that last few years Cleveland only took care of wedges and putters while Srixon provided all the other clubs for players. Players like Keegan Bradley, Graeme Mcdowell, Smylie Kaufman and Hideki Matsuyama always had two different brand names in their bag. It will be interesting to see if any of them choose to play the NEW Cleveland CBX. APPEARANCE  I really like irons that have a satin finish to them, because it is slightly distracting when the sunlight is reflecting off glossy finishes. For […]

  • Recently, we had the opportunity to hit the NEW TaylorMade P-790 at the shop. Let me tell you… no other manufacturer is making irons like these ones. It seems that TaylorMade is continually pushing the envelope with different materials. The TaylorMade M woods were one of the first drivers to feature carbon fiber crown. The TaylorMade (TM) P-790s will be replacing the TM UDI series. However, unlike the UDI series the P-790s will be available from 2 iron to pitching wedge; the UDI was only available in the longer irons. Players looking for distance and higher ball flight will absolutely […]

Koepka stated that his main reason to using Mizuno was the look and feel of the irons. This is what Mizuno is infamous for, LOOKS and FEEL. Their new line, MP-18, did not let us down. Not only did the irons look good, but they felt softer than the JPX-900 Tour irons. Although it states “1025E” on both clubs, the MP-18 felt softer. The MP-18 is forged with 1025E pure-select mild-carbon […]

The Swedish golfer was able to shoot 10-under in the second round. How was he able to do it you might ask? READ ON TO FIND OUT. The answer is simple, it was all in the putter. Henrik was putting lights out this weekend. When you watch the highlights, he was sinking 20 to 30 and even 40 foot putts like it was easy. Henrik has been using Odyssey putters from the beginning of his career. He has […]

  • PING has always been a company about customizing clubs to the player. They understand that different golfers need different specs, especially for the fairway wood. Why the fairway wood you might ask? There’s many reasons why having trusted fairway woods are important: when the driver is misbehaving the woods are next in line, or if you need to reach the green in two in order to beat your playing partners. Sometimes you hit a poor shot off the tee, so you have to make up the distance and get your ball back into play. I really like fitting customers, especially […]

  • Is this TaylorMade putter insert threatening the Scotty Cameron putter line? We all knew the TaylorMade Spider Tour was approved by World No. 1 players like Jason Day and Dustin Johnson. However, maybe it’s the insert and not necessarily the shape of the head that had brought them success. The Pure Roll insert by TaylorMade really gets the ball rolling, no pun intended. If you Youtube putter fitting videos, you will learn how important it is to get the ball rolling after impact, and not skipping. Scotty Cameron claims that immediate ball rolling makes the ball push into the ground, […]

  • We are noticing a significant putter trend on tour. The greatest players in the world are making a switch to the most important club in the bag. We have already talked in the past about players switching from blades to putters, but all these mallets have something very in common. In my opinion, the most three most popular mallet heads players are using are the TaylorMade Spider Tour, the Scotty Cameron X7 shape, and the Odyssey #7S. The secret? Tour players have these putter head shapes, but with a SLANT NECK HOSEL. The first putter we have seen with this […]

  • There are golfers that do not get technical, and there are others that do. We all have met that player that gets intricate with their game, but really has no business doing so. If Bryson DeChambeau was not on the PGA Tour, you would think he is a nut job. The physics major has broken his golf swing to a science. With all the available swing analyzers, DeChambeau wanted to make the game easier. Most advanced golfers are aware that each club is swung differently, due to the different lengths. What Bryson DeChambeau has done is take out the different […]

  • You love your three wood, but you just wish it would go a little longer. There are many possible ways to do, besides swinging harder. You can extend the length on your wood, but you lose control and consistency. You can add lead tape to make the club head heavier, but that might throw your temp off in your other clubs. You have looked into buying a 13.5 degree wood, but you can’t find one with modern technology. It is not a secret that trying to find a fairway wood stronger than 15 degrees is hard to find in today’s […]

  • When choosing a golf ball, there are two things to consider: Do I want a hard ball or a soft ball? Which part of my game am I struggling with, long or short? The type of ball you use really does matter. Speaking from personal experience, I always struggled with keeping the ball in play off the tee with the ProV1x. I then switched to the softer ProV1 to reduce side spin with my driver. I sacrificed the green-side spin for accuracy off the tee. Since that switch, I have lost an average of three strokes per round. So how […]

They also have four new driver heads for their XD series. I want to compare the TourB X-Blade and the J15 MB, since blade-lovers are always looking for the latest and greatest blades.   When the J15 MBs came out, many people drooled over the look of them because they were so clean. They were very compact and smooth at sight, which was the main reason our customers purchased a set. Not only […]
