Tenby was formed in 1888 and is the oldest established course in Wales.

It also remains the spiritual home of the Welsh Amateur Championship and, outwith Celtic Manor and Royal Porthcawl, is one of Wales’ most famous courses. Playing Tenby is like taking step back in time as its design and subtle intricacies have remained pretty much the same, and its defences, too, have withstood the test of time. When the wind blows the only hiding place will be the huge dunes which are covered by wispy links turf, other than that it is open to the element like any great links course should be.

A modern links championship golf course, Machynys Peninsula has been designed to challenge the best players in championship conditions - and yet still be enjoyable for the higher handicapper, by utilising up to five tees per hole. The shaping of the £3.5m course layout has included the creation of 25 acres of new lakes - salt and fresh water - 12 miles of irrigation pipes and six miles of drainage pipes, to ensure the course is in top condition all year round.

Gary Nicklaus - who has been overseeing the project design on behalf of his father, the legendary Jack Nicklaus - has identified some of his favourite and most challenging holes as the 4th, 5th, 16th, and 18th. Naming the fourth, "the most unique, a short-ish par 4 but a very challenging and a difficult one nonetheless."

Ever since its opening back in 1894 Llandudno (North Wales) has garnered itself a highly respected reputation having hosted seemingly every top regional event imaginable.
The course is situated on Llandudno’s West Shore, overlooking Conway Bay, therefore provides a quite stunning links test. It is a natural links course in
every aspect with the front line like similar to Troon, in that it runs alongside a railway line with the homeward stretch along the coast.

A particular highlight, aside from the spectacular views, are the tricky par threes where a par feels like a birdie.
